My name is Kathryn, and I am an Independent Speech and Language Therapist and the Founder and Managing Director of PlayTalk Limited, a speech and language therapy service based in Leeds.
The therapy journey
I want the therapy journey to be an enjoyable experience, where caregivers feel fully supported throughout. I believe that communication should be fun, so I use creative play-based speech therapy in line with current research methods to achieve effective clinical practice.
Who I work with
I work with children, families, and caregivers to support speech and language difficulties and communication skills. I am an experienced neurodiversity affirming therapist working with clients and their families who may require speech and language therapy for the following:
Early language development
Autism language and communication development
A Developmental Language Disorder (DLD)
Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
Speech sounds and phonological awareness (awareness of sound structures within words)
A learning disability
